doubt...

...everybody has it. In a world where information is as abuntant as ours, bullshit is also abundant. however, what is not abundant is adequate systems of filtration of that information, making the bullshit mix in nicely with the rest. we know it's there, but since our references are so fragmented, we can't be certain. sure, we can filter out the obvious bullshit, but sometimes that will cause us to filter out real shit that only looks like bullshit because of ineffective marketing. then again, marketing is 2 things: one, finding people who have a need, and two, instilling a need in people who do not have a need. (more or less). see? half of marketing is all bullshit. they study our habits and culture in order to find out how we filter out the bullshit. the ones that have the resources to do this are the best at convincing us to swallow bullshit. the ones that don't have the resources to sell us bullshit as effectively, paradoxically, are the ones that will most likely appear to be bullshit.

the only thing that really saves us is doubt. doubt, however, being the primary target of all bullshitologists. of course, maybe we'd be happier if all just swallowed the bullshit and went on with our lives.
